  • Design Engineer

    Design Engineers carry out activities within NPI and ECP projects.  The job holder will be required to participate in all related engineering/technical activity in delivery of the project programme and development of the competence centre within R&D. Engineers are responsible for delivering all activity meaningfully, using their expertise and knowledge and striving for a best in class approach at all times.

    The job holder will be expected to:

    • Lead design aspects of R&D projects
    • Provide design leadership/responsibility for R&D projects
    • Help define the Product Specification
    • Provide solutions to design problems
    • Responsible for the completion of design work on given R&D projects
    • Support the Project Manager
    • Liaise closely with suppliers and cross-functional team members
    • Ensure that design conforms to specified product performance and cost
    • Look for improvement opportunities in current working practices
    • Proactive with the ability to work on their own initiative
    • Responsible for the timely release of all design data, including: General arrangement layouts,

    Detail drawings, Spares data, Implementation of FMEA generated output and Certification drawings

    • Responsible for the quality of released data
    • Material choice, tolerance etc.
    • Ensure suitability of design for manufacture & assembly DFM/DFA

    Essential requirements include:

    Applicants should have a HNC/Degree in an Engineering Discipline and knowledge of 3D CAD design (preferably Siemens NX) along with an understanding of full product generation from concept through to product implementation.  They should have experience of design for a range of manufacturing techniques.

  • Heating Systems Designer

    Reporting to the Design Service Manager the successful applicant will be required to create central heating designs for new build housing using Cymap and AutoCAD design software.  They will be expected to work within promised timescales using agreed design principles.

    Key Accountabilities include:

    • To work within a team in order to satisfy customer requirements
    • To capture correct and concise information on the drawing system
    • To apply customer services skills to ensure that all customers receive an appropriate supportive service
    • To ensure that the designs produced are compliant with internal standards and legislative requirements
    • To effectively manage revisions to designs as required
    • To provide technical design information to internal and external customers
    • To take ownership of design requests from inception to completion.

    Essential requirements include:

    • Well-practised customer service skills
    • Well proven communication skills
    • Knowledge of central heating design and design principles
    • Time management
    • Experience of using computer-based drawing systems
    • Able to interpret and enter data correctly and accurately
    • Experienced team player

    • A relevant recognised qualification to degree level or equivalent would be a distinct advantage as would experience of using Revit.

  • Development Engineer

    Reporting to the Development Manager, the successful job holder will be responsible for working on NPI and engineering change programmes.

    The job holder will be expected to:

    • Maintain a sound theoretical approach to technology and demonstrate practical application of engineering knowledge in planning and specifying activities and problem solving/solution evaluation.
    • Promote innovation and advancement in technology and participate in specified research, design, and development.
    • Complete activities in full, to time and cost to meet the requirements of the programme.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement, ensuring ongoing review of technology, processes, and outcomes.
    • Collaborate with third party expertise / contracts as required to meet NPI and CIP programmes.
    • Be responsible for ongoing continuous professional development of own competencies and highlight skills and support for development of engineering competencies, to meet programme requirements and support effective and efficient resource deployment.
    • Communicate information and knowledge to support effective decision making.
    • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with colleagues.
    • Undertake supplier liaison against the requirements of the vendor management process.
    • Build understanding of customers and markets and work with others to improve customer service.

    Essential requirements include:

    • Awareness of effective planning and implementation of design and development activity.
    • Strong analytical and critical reasoning skills, and implementation of solutions.
    • Team player with excellent communication and networking skills with strong drive and self-motivation.
    • Plumbing and engineering skills to enable construction and operation of a simple gas appliance test rig against specific requirements.
    • Knowledge of the principles of combustion in gas fired appliances.
    • Knowledge of the principles of refrigeration cycles (thermodynamic heat pump cycles).
    • Ability to balance competing priorities and drive issues to completion.
    • Awareness of markets and customers.

    Applicants should have an HNC/Degree in an Engineering related discipline and the knowledge and understanding of engineering principles in relevant technology and competence centre fields to fulfil the requirement of the role. They should have a strong background in product development and / or continuous improvement in a technical/engineering discipline. Sound IT skills are a pre-requisite. 

    Knowledge of refrigeration systems is a desirable, as is the knowledge and understanding of regulations and standards related to gas appliances and general awareness of regulations and standards in all areas.

  • Production / Warehouse Operatives

    We are always looking for hard working, enthusiastic production operatives to join our team. We operate an annualised calendar, which means that you can expect to work either 4 or 5 days a week (Monday – Friday only) on a shift based system. Full training will be given and there are generous payrates available.

    •  Assembling Central Heating Boilers using component parts

    Job Responsibilities and Major Activities

    • Work within a team to manage inbound and outbound call centre activity
    • Capturing correct and concise information onto the computer system
    • To apply customer service skills to ensure that all customers receive an appropriate supportive service, whilst recognizing that at times some customers may be distressed.
    • To adhere to the call escalation procedure to ensure that the appropriate level of service is offered to customers
    • To confidently demonstrate a working knowledge of heating systems to enable telephone resolution to applicable situations, in order to minimize engineer call outs.
    • To correctly assign feedback calls via the customer survey portal in order to drive customer excellence.
    • Take ownership of the call and undertake the relevant tasks to complete the customer’s requirements fully

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Able to adapt language and communication style appropriately to build effective relationships, particularly with technically qualified installers. Feels confident challenging the opinions of others (where appropriate).
    • Ability to support customers out of normal working hours with occasional weekend in line with customer demands. and occasionally at weekends, when the demand arises, vital to representing the company and in relationship development
    • SAP knowledge and an understanding of heating products required to meet new building energy efficiency standards (iASHP, HIU’s) would be a distinct advantage.
