Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I’m a passionate Sheffield Wednesday supporter, with many years in the stands watching them home and away, in my younger footballing years I attended training sessions with the Sheffield United youth team, and had to wear their shirt at training, thankfully there was no social media in those days, so no photographic evidence, I’ve had to live with this shame for so many years, and they rejected me!

Q) Tell us about your job and what it involves.

My role is to look after new build business for the North of England. This includes supporting both contractors and developers with marketing, pre sales and aftersales support.

My aim is to protect our boiler sales while introducing Ideal air source heat pumps into the new build sector.

My strategy is to help my customers with the legislation changes and be a key part in helping support both contractor and developers with the changes ahead as we head towards net zero and decarbonisation.

Q) What’s the best thing about your job?

I love spending time with customers, it’s great for getting to know people from different walks of life.

I really enjoy the customer service part of my role and being the key contact and support for all my customer base.

The number one thing has to be sales! New build sales can be a long process from pre sales to order, making sure we link up the full route to market, so it is satisfying when you see the confirmed orders coming through.

Q) What makes Ideal Heating stand out in the market?

We have the full package: pre sales, product, marketing, designs, sales, after sales support.

We have been involved in heating homes for over 100 years, so we know what we’re doing and how to fully support our customer base.

This is very obvious in new build and is why we have a 76 per cent market share.

Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I love spending time with my family. I have four-year-old son George and an eight-year-old daughter Faith.

I also love playing and watching sport and I have had the joy of being the captain of my golf club for the last 16 months.

Q) Tell me one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I’m ex-Armed Forces. I was in The Royal Dragoon Guards for seven years straight from school.

I was a driver, a gunner and an operator of the Challenger 2 main battle tank.
